Hey JOTS - I just watched Anthem to Beauty 2 weeks ago. I thought it was great, if only for all the vintage video reels.

Also, I have to admit that I replayed and replayed the Hunter segment where he talks about the trip to London, drinking retsina, and writing Ripple, Brokedown Palace, and To Lay Me Down in one afternoong. For some weird reason that was really inspirational to watch - you could just tell from his account that he connected with some higher power that afternoon, and created something of everlasting beauty. And he knew it right away.... taken at face value, the story makes Hunter sound like me has a big ego, but when you see him tell it in his own words you realize he was in awe of, and humbled, by what transpired.

Also, on a more trivial note, I never realized that "Beauty" on the AB album also spells "Reality". Good DVD.

yeah that is a powerful scene, his tearing up in fond awe kind of almost makes me choke up too. Last time I watched that I watched it with my wife ( who has come to really resepct and appreciate my band but of course is not rabid like me ). She thought the way he stated that was brilliant too.

I'm still waiting for who those days are going to come for next. Hopefully in my lifetime.

I'm waiting too. You've got to believe the same force he tapped into is always swirling around, just waiting for someone with the right key to tap into it. Sounds a bit New Agey, but you catch my drift...

yeah I do and that's exactly how I've always thought about it. If it can happen once why can't it happen again? When? Who? Something/someone has to fill that void you'd hope.
